The score for Atlas Shrugged: Who Is John Galt was recorded in early July at the Bridge Recording Studios with a Hollywood studio orchestra. The soundtrack will be released in time for the movie premier in Las Vegas on September, 6th 2014. (nationwide on September 12th) Keep your eyes peeled for more info!
The soundtrack from the feature Wicked Blood was released both electronically and on physical cd on Varese Sarabande’s website.
Summer 2014 UpdateWicked Blood was released on March 4th on Netflix and Redbox. Be on the lookout for the Wicked Blood soundtrack being released soon on the Varese Sarabande label.
The end of March concluded with an exciting new collaboration on Rustam Branaman’s Any Day, a new drama featuring Sean Bean, Kate Walsh, Eva Longoria and Tom Arnold. The score was written for violin solo, piano and the LaMi String Quartet.
Elia was invited to write the score for the last part of the trilogy of Atlas Shrugged. The third installment, named Atlas Shrugged: Who Is John Galt?, is scheduled to be scored in June of this year. The strong cast includes Kristoffer Polaha, Laura Regan, Rob Morrow and others.
Currently, Elia is considering scoring a police drama TV series being produced in the Czech Republic.
Fall 2013 UpdateThe first two-thirds of the 2013, Elia has been writing for two movies. On the first he re-teamed with director/producer Joel Soisson on his exotic thriller, Cam2Cam, shot entirely in Bangkok, Thailand. The score infuses Thai flavors with dark percussive beds/grooves with solos for Thai fiddle.
August marked Elia’s third collaboration with director Mark Young on Wicked Blood. A tragi-drama about a dysfunctional family involved in drug trafficking somewhere in the south. The movie supports a great cast, starring Abigail Breslin, Alexa Vega, Sean Bean, Jake Busey and Lew Temple. Elia makes use of many southern instruments including the dobro, dulcimer, steel guitar and mandolin while still keeping a somewhat classical-feel with a string quartet-(2 violas and 2 celli).
Orchestral Suite From Ronin Premiers in Elia’s Czech HometownElia’s orchestral suite from Ronin was premiered with conductor Petr Pololanik in Elia’s hometown Zlin, Czech Republic on November 29, 2012. The concert was dedicated to film music and other composers on program included Alfred Newman, Alan Silvestri, Lalo Schifrin, Bernard Herrmann, Jerry Goldsmith, Hans Zimmer, John Berry and Henry Mancini. Fall 2012 UpdateIn early 2012 Lakeshore Records released the Piranha 3DD score album, composed by Elia. The score album is available both as a CD and on iTunes. Also in 2012, Elia rewrote and arranged some of his most beloved film scores for a piano trio (piano, violin, and cello). On September 23rd a performance of these arrangements took place at the residence of the Czech consul in Los Angeles. These suites are being recorded for future release.
Elia is a producer and a composer for the upcoming horror feature, tentatively named Malcolm. In the beginning of February 2013 the team will shoot a trailer that Elia will score. Keep eyes for the trailer on YouTube.
